A lot of noise was made last night on The Rachel Maddow Show about the “impeachment threat” by GOP operative Billie Piper. There seems to be some confusion about the nature of threat, so let me translate the statement for you.
Piper said:
“The quickest way for him to get impeached is for Trump to knock off Jeff Flake and Dean Heller and be faced with a Democrat-led Senate.”
Now, contrary to the way it was characterized by Rachel, this was not a threat by the GOP to impeach Trump for his 24x7 felonious behavior. It was a threat that IF Democrats win the Senate AND the House (articles of impeachment originate in the House, and are tried in the Senate) they MIGHT, but the GOP won’t.
In essence, no matter what Trump does, the GOP will not impeach him.
He can obstruct justice, and they will not impeach him.
He can use his office to sell favors, and they will not impeach him.
He can incite violence against his critics and they will not impeach him.
He can put on a swastika armband, and sport a tiny mustache and they will not impeach him.
He can sell the nuclear launch codes to Putin, and they will not impeach him.
He can start a nuclear war, and they will not impeach him.
He can rape children and fondle goats on the White House lawn at midday, and live stream it, and they will not impeach him.
He can saunter into a federal reserve bank and drive off with a fork lift full of 100s, and they will not impeach him.
Nothing Trump can, or will do, will compel them to impeach him. And unlike Trump, who is arguably clinically insane and/or demented, they will support his actions with the full understanding of the harm they are doing to individuals, the nation and the world. They will do so without reservation, and with the full desire to enrich only themselves and their owners.
The GOP is now irredeemable and irrevocably evil. They are like the Terminator and we need to understand that reality.
Listen, and understand! [The GOP] is out there! [They] can't be bargained with. [They] can't be reasoned with. [They] don't feel pity, or remorse, or fear. And [they] absolutely will not stop... ever, until you are dead!
