What if the shutdown lasts until the election?

And before anyone says “impossible”, I would point out that Trump being elected was also impossible, as was practically everything that happened this year with him in power.

Yes, elections are mostly run by the states, but he GOP knows that the only way they can stay in power is:

1) Lie

2) Cheat

3) Suppress the vote

4) Work the refs

5) Sue, sue, sue…

6) Thuggery at the polls

With the government shut down, holding elections would be chaotic. Shutting down the government also means shutting down the courts, thus shutting down the one body that could hamper the GOP’s illegal electioneering and vote suppressing tactics. A shut down government means no FEC. At some point, Trump may simply declare martial law to “restore order”, and you can be damned sure at that point that either elections won’t happen, or polling places will only be open in certain areas, certainly NOT urban locations.

Yes, I know people will tell me that this can’t happen, but I am no longer so sure.
